One hundred and fifty chiefdom police are to be trained to help collect local tax in the Bombali District
Eric Dura Sesay, Chairman of the Bombali District Council told CTN that the council would not deliver services without adequate revenue collection. Mr. Sesay said the Bombali District Council was determined to be part of the central government’s development programmes. Mohamed Osman Marah, Deputy Chief Administrator of the Bombali District Council said although local tax was collected by the chiefdom authorities in the district, forty percent was paid to the council. He said the council was in the process of developing a revenue database in the district.
