A team of Chinese nationals have been dispatched to four Agricultural

stations in the country to help improve the output of farmers.

They will be working with farmers in the Farmer Field School System in all the

twelve districts.

The system brings together farmers and agricultural workers to teach them

to solve their farming problems.

Mr. Joe Patrick Amara is the National Consultant of the Ministry of

Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security. He told CTN that there are four

Chinese experts. He said they specialize in crop production, livestock

management, aquaculture, and agro-processing. He said the rest of the

team are technicians. They will be staying for two years, he added.

Mr. Amara said the presence of the Chinese is the outcome of a tripartite

agreement with Sierra Leone, China and the Food and Agricultural

Organization.
