Paramount Chiefs Award ‘Man of Peace Award’ to President Koroma PDF Print E-mail

The fifty-two paramount chiefs in the southern region have awarded President Ernest Bai Koroma the, ‘Man of Peace Award’.

The award ceremony was held at the Presidential Lodge in Bo. The Chairman of the Council of Paramount Chiefs in the region Joe Kangbai Macavory of Tinkoko Chiefdom in Bo District said the award was in honour of the efforts of the President to maintain peace in the country. He assured the President of their total support for the government, especially in the promotion of peace and development in the country. Commending the chiefs for the award, President Koroma stressed the importance of maintaining peace, law and order in the country. He said peace and development were intertwined adding that development would only take place where there was peace. He said his government was focused on maintaining peace and development as enshrined in his Agenda for Change. He therefore urged the paramount chiefs to maintain the tenets of peace, law and order in their communities. President Koroma encouraged the chiefs to work collectively in developing the country.
