A team of officials from the African Development Bank (ADB) has met with the Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation to discuss issues regarding the ADB’s sponsored project aimed at strengthening district health services undertaken in five districts in the country. The Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation, Mohamed Daudis Koroma, expressed appreciation on behalf of the government to the ADB for the grant to cover the project for five years. He informed the team of plans that had been put in place by the government to address health care services in the country, citing the proposed implementation of the national health sector strategic plan. He encouraged the ADB to work in line with the ministry to ensure proper working system and transparency. Dr. Fabrice Sergent, head of the ABD team, said the ten day working visit was to make a review of the current status of the list of facilities in the country to be rehabilitated. He said the Mid Term Review would give an opportunity to see whether the project was on track or whether there is a change in the policy situation.
