The Cotton Tree News (CTN) on Wednesday, Seventeenth February, celebrated its third anniversary of broadcast in Sierra Leone.
Cotton Tree News (CTN) is a partnership project between Fourah Bay College and Fondation Hirondelle. CTN started operation in 2007 as a media development project particularly for the radio sector. As part of the celebrations, CTN hosted a live transmission of the discussion programme “Insai Salone” on the subject of ‘CTN at Three’. During the programme people called for the extension of the CTN project. There were concerns about CTN’s operations following the closure of UN radio. Both, Mrs. Bernadette Cole, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Fourah Bay College with oversight responsibility of CTN, and the CTN Country Representative, Graeme Loten said plans were being put in place for the possible extension of the project.
