The President Ernest Bai Koroma appointed former Chief Justice Dr. Alhaji Abdulai Timbo as Fullah Tribal head in the Western Area.

The ceremony took place at State House where the Minister of Local Government, Dauda Sulaiman Kamara presented Dr. Timbo the letter of appointment from the president. Mr. Kamara said Dr. Timbo was chosen to lead his people because he was considered as the most competent. He said the new fullah tribal head has helped a lot in the promotion of his people. The former Chief Justice commended President Koroma for the appointment. He promised to guide his people to live and operate within the laws of the country. Dr. Timbo said he would do in all his power to unite the fullahs. His rival for the appointment, Mohamed Texaco Bah said he reserved his comments on the appointment. Some Fullahs, however remain critical of Dr. Timbo’s appointment because according to them his administration would be elitist, catering for affluent fullahs in society to the detriment of the grassroots communities.
