Sierra Leone Association of Journalists has condemned lawlessness in the country.
SLAJ in a press release said the police seem helpless as youths defiantly take the law into their hands. That had created a state of insecurity among the civil populace, the release added. The association also expressed concern about filth in Freetown. According to SLAJ, Freetown is no longer a safe place to live given the potential health hazards resulting from piles of garbage scattered all over the city. SLAJ said a government that is unable to protect its citizens from lawless activities or provide clean surroundings cannot ensure the peace and security the people desire.
