National Social Security and Insurance Trust or NASSIT says it purchased the building of the former United States Embassy with no shady deal.
Gibril Saccoh, NASSIT’s Deputy Director General of Membership spoke at a news conference in Freetown. It was to refute a publication by the Standard Times that the deal was done in a shady manner. Mr Saccoh said NASSIT paid for the building after negotiations. Mr Saccoh said the procurement of all goods and services was in line with the procurement policy of NASSIT and the National Procurement Act. He said the building would be handed over to NASSIT after rehabilitation. He said that would enable the institution to save the huge rental cost for all the premises it occupied.
