The University of Sierra Leone has been selected as the first in Africa to benefit from the Tony Blair Faith Foundation project, a senior official of Fourah Bay College says.

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Bernadette Cole who also serves as Chairperson of the foundation team in Sierra Leone described the foundation as an “initiative developed by former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair to get university students across the world to develop modules that would discuss issues of faith and globalization.”

She said the project included “multi disciplinary teaching courses on faith and globalization, research, and public policy formulation.

Mrs. Cole said the project would enable university students to debate on the role of faith and globalization towards the consolidation of peace.

She said students that would be selected would represent the university in exchange programmes with students from other universities in the world.

Mrs. Cole said the Tony Blair Faith Foundation team is already in Sierra Leone to work with the university to put together the four pillars of the project.
