The US Ambassador to Sierra Leone has promised to help the University of Sierra Leone foster partnership with institutions of higher learning in the United States.
Ambassador Michael Owen made this pledge on Monday during a familiarization tour to the University of Sierra Leone.

The Ambassador met with university officials at the Committee Room at Fourah Bay College, followed by a guided tour of some of the college’s facilities.

Officials of the university used the opportunity to highlight some of the challenges the university has been going through.

Professor Redwood-Sawyer is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sierra Leone..

He welcomed the Ambassador’s visit and goodwill.

Professor Redwood-Sawyer said with all the issues raised by the university officials, there was need for the university to set up a needs assessment committee to assess the most pressing needs to be presented to potential donors.
