Two Pastors die in gruesome road accident

A gruesome road accident along the Makeni-Lunsar highway has left four people dead. The private Mercedes Benz car with registration Number ADS 276, which was involved in the accident, was traveling from Makeni to Freetown after a church service in Makeni. The Traffic Officer attached to the Makeni Police station, Sergeant Bockarie Sesay, said the accident occurred at Rolako about five miles from Makeni. The deceased include Reverend John Mendi of the Church of God of Prophecy, the driver (the son of Pastor Mendi) and a Police Office, who was also a pastor of the church. According to eye witnesses, the car somersaulted three times, hit a road side fuel station and was set ablaze. The burnt remains of victims were conveyed to the Makeni Government Hospital. Police are investigating cause of the accident.
