Sierra Leone and Libya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in a bid to strengthen the developmental and cultural relations between the two countries.

Information and Communication Minister, Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, told CTN that Libyan investors were interested in the areas of telecommunication, mining, agriculture and infrastructure.

Alhaji Kargbo further disclosed that the government of Libya had also pledged to construct a five star hotel for the country’s fiftieth independence anniversary, next year.

When asked about the people’s apprehensions regarding the government’s dealings with Colonel Muamar Gaddafi, the government minister replied that, Colonel Gaddafi, was no longer a pariah as both American and European governments and investors were now striking commercial deals with the Libyan government.
