The National Publicity Secretary of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) says 19 candidates have paid a Le 50m fee each to qualify for the race to lead the party into the 2012 presidential polls.   Honorable Musa Tamba Sam said four aspirants who had initially paid Le 10m each but failed to meet the deadline to complete their payments had been dropped out of the race.   Honorable Sam however declined from naming the four unpaid candidates.   He also dispelled claims that the candidature fee for the party’s flag-bearer was too exorbitant and would create disunity in the party.    Honorable Sam said the money collected would be used for the party’s campaign in the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
