At the end of the play-offs, which started at various venues in Freetown, on the eighteen of October, the top team in each group will automatically qualify to play in Sierra Leone’s top-tier football league. The teams in the play-offs are, Belvic United, Brook-fields United, Dollarosa FC, Victory Evangelistic Ministries and Kissy All Stars; all from the Western Area. The other participating teams are Dabundeh FC from Kono, Bai Bureh Warriors of Port Loko, Area Best from Makeni; Yambatui Stars of Moyamba and Bo United of Bo. In the opening encounters, at the National Stadium, Bai Bureh FC had a goalless draw with Belvic United; Dollarosa FC also had a goalless against Brook-fields United on the same day. On Wednesday, Area Best of Makeni, (a newly formed break-away team) recorded a stunning 2-1 victory over much fancied Dollarosa FC.
Also on Wednesday at the Football Academy grounds, King Tom, Bai Bureh Warriors of Port Loko defeated Dabundeh FC of Kono by two goals to nil. The play-offs continue on Thursday 21st October, with Brook-fields United taking on Yambatui Stars of Moyamba at the Parade Grounds in central Freetown. Bo United will meet with Belvic United at the Brima Attouga Mini Stadium Cline Town.
