Salone drawn against Liberia, Nigeria in Johansen’s youth tournament

Sierra Leone’s Shooting Stars have been drawn against neighbours Liberia, The Gambia and giants, Nigeria in Group A, in FC Johansen’s African youth football tournament which has been scheduled for 27 November.

The draw for the second edition of the competition was held over the weekend in Freetown.

The Ghanaian Under-20 national side have been grouped with Diembas Academy in Senegal, hosts FC Johansen and the South African Under-20 team.

The trophy is named after 16 year-old Issa Koroma, fondly called “Madam” who played for FC Johansen before his death early this year.

The club’s media consultant, John Conteh told CTN that effective measures have been taken to maintain security during the competition.

The Ghanaian High Commissioner was among a host of other dignitaries who divided the teams into two groups: A and B

The opening match will be between Shooting stars and Liberia.  The tournament ends on 4t December.
